Police are investigating after a 12-year-old walking to school in Invercargill was approached by a stranger.

It happened near a park on Iona Street between 8am and 8.30am last Monday.
Police said the person was on foot and wearing dark clothing, dark shoes and dark head wear.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Invercargill Police or Crimestoppers.
