Dunedin police have collared an unclothed crim after his getaway was anything but clean.

Officers were called to the Dunedin suburb of Mornington yesterday afternoon after reports of a man exposing himself.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said police located a septuagenarian believed to be the offender.

"[The man] was located in his car which he had crashed into a parked car whilst attempting to leave the area," Mr Dinnissen said.

The 70-year-old man was charged in relation to the exposure incident and would appear in the Dunedin District Court today.

He was already facing a number of unrelated charges.
