Whangarei Post Shop robbed

Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of the New Zealand Post Shop in Whangarei.

They say a man aged between 20 and 30 entered the shop on Rathbone Street about 5.30pm on Thursday, presented a note demanding money and told the teller that he had a firearm.

The teller handed over some cash and the man ran off. He is described as Maori, wearing a dark hoodie and a cap with a red peak, and carrying a grey backpack.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information related to it.
