Tourism Industry Association chief executive Martin Snedden is stepping down.
The former Test cricketer took over as chief executive in June 2012, and will step down at the end of March.
He says his increasing involvement with New Zealand Cricket means it has become unrealistic to carry on both roles effectively.
Association chairman Grant Lilly says Mr Snedden has been instrumental in strengthening the tourism industry and steering it to face the challenges of the next decade.
He says the search for a new chief executive will begin immediately.
