The Old Waimakariri Bridge is open again on Saturday morning after earthquake repair works were completed earlier than expected.
The bridge was closed last week for earthquake repair work and strengthening, to make the bridge better able to cope during the flood season.
Dry conditions this week allowed contractors to finish the work 36 hours ahead of schedule.
The bridge is open again from 6am.
