工党党魁Chris Hipkins 本周四（9月7日）表示，工党承诺增加300名一线警力、宣布针对帮派的新打击措施；加强对跟踪和骚扰的法律保护。以上政策计划在未来4年内投入1.25亿预算来实现。
与此同时，国家党承诺建设一条徒步大步道（ Great Walk ）；以及增加电动自行车充电设施；作为该党旅游政策的一部分，重新修订打工度假签证。打工度假签证年龄限制将放宽，并取消中位数工资要求。以上政策预计在4年内投入2200万纽币预算。
