Share trading in Bathurst Resources resumed on Monday after the mining company said appeals over its Escarpment mine project should be heard later this year.
The Perth-based firm's plan to develop the Escarpment coal mine project in Buller faces three appeals from local environmental and residents' groups.
After a pre-hearing conference in Christchurch, Bathurst said it would provide evidence to the Environment Court by 1 June.
It said it hoped for a hearing in the September quarter.
Bathurst says it is encouraged that the Environment Court is giving the matter an appropriate level of urgency.
