NZX 50 rises 25 points

The NZX 50 rose 25 points (0.66%) on Monday to close at 3817, on turnover of $122 million.

Cornerstone stock Telecom rose 1.5 cents to $2.50, Ryman Healthcare rose 9 cents to $4.14, and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare rose half a cent to $2.16.

Exchange operator NZX's own share price rose 4 cents to $1.15.

The price paid for shares in big box retailer The Warehouse rose 2 cents to $2.92, Fletcher Building lifted 14 cents to $6.94, and Contact was up 3 cents to $5.04.

Mainfreight rose 6 cents to $10.45, Port of Tauranga rose 22 cents to $12.87, Sky TV rose 1 cent to $5.04.

Tower Ltd was unchanged at $1.78, but Nuplex fell 5 cents to $3.15, Chorus fell 2 cents to $3.50, and accounting software company Xero fell 4 cents to $4.91.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances fell 1.5 cents to $1.19, and New Zealand Oil and Gas fell 2.5 cents to 84 cents.

At the end of the local trading, the New Zealand dollar was buying 82.81 US cents, 78.61 Australian cents, 51.03 British pence, 64.86 Japanese yen, 0.6304 of a euro, and the TWI was at 73.09 points.
