"The kohanga reo generation is here, and we have a huge movement and a huge wave of us coming through." That korero is from our next guest, 21 year old Hana Rawhiti Maipi Clarke, while she was on the campaign trail at last year's election. She won the Hauraki-Waikato seat off incumbent Nanaia Mahuta, becoming Aotearoa's youngest ever female MP. The wave she speaks of is no illusion. The 2018 census showed that 57-percent of Maori are aged under 30, and as Hana Rawhiti Maipi Clarke demonstrates, they're starting to wield power.
