Going since 2006, The Orient Xpress is a nine member Wellington-based band who pride themselves on evoking the sounds of pre-WWII jazz music from Shanghai. They also use traditional instruments like the Pi-pa (Chinese lute) as well as adapt famous songs of the era into Mandarin. Lynda attends the 24 hour Musicathon at St John's Church to hear them as they raise funds for Water for the Westbank.
