A canvas of central Auckland has seen some community members in support of mandatory scanning. There are more than 2 million people registered for the app, and QR code scan rates have nearly doubled with New Zealand's latest scare. But are they at the level they need to be? A diplomatic row between Australia and New Zealand has erupted over the case of a 25-year-old woman who was detained in Turkey with her two children, after trying to enter illegally from Syria. Wellington Girls' College has apologised to a student who was sent home for wearing high-waisted pants and a tank top to school on Friday. Seventeen-year-old Lauren Hardie was told at the time her outfit was inappropriate and that it put male teachers in a vulnerable position. The principal now says the school acted hastily, and never should have made the comment about male staff.
