Beavers prove rewilding superstars in Somerset

From The Panel, 3:47 pm on 3 December 2020

It's time for an Beaver update! In January this year beavers were released into Somerset in an effort to restore wetlands and reduce erosion and flooding. Beavers became extinct in the UK over four hundred years ago so it was a huge move. It's worked! The reintroduced rodents have made the first natural dam which has created an "instant wetland". Rodent correspondent Rob Kelly joins the panel to discuss the importance of this modest dam and the benefits of re-wilding.
