Govt charters aircraft to get New Zealanders out of Wuhan

From The Panel, 4:10 pm on 30 January 2020

New Zealanders evacuated from Wuhan amid the coronavirus outbreak will be quarantined in Aotearoa, not on Christmas Island like the Australians. There are 53 New Zealanders registered as being in Wuhan, and the government has agreed with Air New Zealand to charter an aircraft to assist New Zealanders leaving Wuhan.

Psychologist Sarb Johal wrote a paper published in the New Zealand Medical Journal a few years ago, outlining some of the psychosocial challenges involved in quarantine, describing the emotional strain of quarantine and isolation. He discusses it with The Panel.
