Nearly 40 percent of Kiwis not getting enough sleep - study

A new study suggests that nearly 40 percent of New Zealanders are getting less than seven hours sleep each night. That falls short of recommended optimal length of seven to nine hours - and study leader Carol Lee from the University of Auckland says many people are unaware of the negative impacts that a lack of sleep can have on their psychological wellbeing - and can lead to a poorer sense of health, as well as lower self-esteem and life satisfaction.
