Mega malls accused of killing off smaller surrounding retailers

The $790 million mega-mall that opened recently in Auckland's Newmarket has been accused of sucking away customers from businesses in the surrounding streets. One cafe owner in nearby Nuffield Street estimates a 60 percent drop in foot traffic.
