The third and final reading of the End of Life Choice Bill on Euthanasia has passed in Parliament by 69 vote to 51. The members bill in the name of ACT leader David Seymour allows terminally ill adults to request a medically assisted death. It will now go to a public referendum. The fate of RNZ and TVNZ may soon be in the hands of Ministers. News today of a proposal to disestablish both broascasters and create an entirely new public media entity. An advisory group setup to look at the issue said that the status quo was unsustainable.
