The Panel with Peter Fa'afiu and Julia Hartley Moore (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 19 September 2019

Do you share your concerns about climate change, and other serious issues, with your children? The University of Auckland will not support next weeks' strike against climate chage. It will be the only University in the Country not supporting it. We ask the Acting President of Auckland University's student association George Barton what the students feel about this stance. A cancer fundraiser hosted by Labour MP Louisa Wall has been criticised by health experts, Stuff reports. The 'Whisky vs Gin' event is for Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month and is a partnership with Spirits New Zealand. But doctors reckon it's a strange event, given the link between alcohol and cancer. The panellists share their thoughts. A kids TV character has been removed from a UK fire department's ads for not being inclusive. Fireman Sam was something of a mascot for the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service. But following complaints by staff and members of the public, the service has axed the character saying the show is outdated and doesn't reflct the inclusive nature of the department. We ask the panellists what they make of this.
