The Abortion Legislation Bill passed its first reading last evening, 94 votes to 23. It will now go to the Select Committee stage. There were heartfelt stories shared in parliament on both sides of the debate, including from New Zealand First MP Tracey Martin explaining the situation with her party and the surprise call for a referendum on the controversial issue. A new report by the IPCC has given the most detailed view yet on how climate change is impacting life on Earth, in particular, the degradation of the land that we rely on for food production. This major report on land use and climate change says that our high consumption of meat and dairy produce is fuelling global warming. We talk to Mike Harvey, NIWA principal scientist, about the report. What is the best/worst outdoor festival you've been to? Why?
