Improving roads to save lives
The government has released details of its Road to Zero Strategy, for public consultation. It aims to cut road deaths by 40 per cent in the next 10 years. This involves improving infrastructure of roads, making it easier for councils to change speed limits, setting safety standards for imported cars, and having more police and more visible speed cameras. Matt Lowrie of Greater Auckland talks about if this is the right approach to cutting the road toll.
