The single use plastic ban comes into effect today. The ban will affect everyone from markets and retailers, supermarkets and department stores. The panellists discuss the move and whether they're already using recyclable bags. On a related topic the Government will spend $40 million on crowd-sourcing ideas to reduce the amount of plastic waste. The money will be used in invest in projects that tackle the problem of waste and will come from the Provincial Growth Fund. We speak to Simonne Eldridge Deputy Chair of WasteMINZ about what kidn fo projects the money could go towards. Donald Trump has become the first sitting US President to set foot in North Korea, meeting Kim Jong-Un in the demilitarized zone. The two leaders talked for nearly an hour and agreed to set up teams to restore nuclear talks, after their last summit broke down in February with little progress. We ask Dr Tim Beal whether this was political theatre or real movement.
