The Panel with Lynda Hallinan and Guy Williams (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 28 June 2019

A concerning picture is emerging with our greenhouse gas emmissions. They've flat lined over the last 10 years and our households emissions have been steadily increasing bucking world wide trends. Our love for the car is the key driver behind our households greenhouse gas emissions rising a hefty 20 percent in the 10 years to 2017. We talk to Professor James Renwick from Victoria University about what we can do to reduce the numbers. Residents across the country, in some of our tourist areas, are tired of seeing packed camp sites, or over packed camps sites. And now Auckland Mayor Phil Goff wants the Government to fundamentally change the law which allows freedom camping, he wants to ban the practice except where councils specifically allow it. The panellists tell us what they think. The Ministry of Education has revealed 300,000 searches for pornographic material were blocked on school networks in one month. School sites are blocking material and safeguards are working but the Ministry has heard from parents and young people about the increased curiosity in porn. The Panellists give their thoughts on how the issue shoudl be tackled.
