The impasse between New Zealand teachers and the Ministry could soon be broken with union leaders supporting a new offer. The Government has offered a new deal to teachers that would increase all current teachers' salaries by 18.5 per cent by 2021. The panellists give their view on the latest development. The man accused of the Christchurch terror attacks has pleaded not guilty to all 92 charges laid against him. 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant underwent a mental health assesment and was found fit to stand trial, which the Judge announced will be in May next year. Law Professor AL Gillespie explains the charges against him and what they might mean for the trial. National has released a primary sector discussion document with a few of their ideas for the rural sector. One of the ideas is that National wants to create a new primary sector visa and expand the regional seasonal employer scheme to meet labour demands. Federated farmers wants longer visas as most dairy workers are only on 12 months. We speak to Chris Lewis from Federated Farmers about the plan.
