From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 10 June 2019

The Crusaders will keep their name but change their logo - there will be no sword, castle or knight. The review into the name comes after calls for it to be dropped following the Christchurch mosque attacks -as it's the name of the bloody medieval conflicts waged by Christian Crusaders on Muslims. We ask the panellists what they make of the decision. Can you suggest a new name for the Crusaders? The former minister for Environment has hit out at the Government's slow progress on protecting the Pacific Ocean. National's Nick Smith says it's "embarrassing" the Government hasn't addressed the Kermadec Ocean Sanctuary proposal he put forward when in office. We ask Livia Esterhazy, New Zealand Chief executive of World Wildlife Fund, what action needs to be taken. An Auckland girls' school has banned phones for students in year 7-10, and students reportedly support the idea. It's hoped the ban will reduce bullying and hearing loss from loud music. We ask the panellists if they think this should be rolled out to other schools around the country. Auckland local boards have spent a million bucks on catering over the last five years. Auckland Council says the catering is for board meetings, community events, workshops and development courses. Is that a fair use of the money? The panellists give their view.
