The Panel with Anton Matthews and Cas Carter (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 5 April 2019

Australia is getting tough with social media companies. An new piece of legislation has been passed that could see executives jailed or fined for showing violent content, following the live stream of the Christchurch terror attack. The punishment is fairly heft too. But not all agree with the move, we speak to The NZ Council for Civil Liberties chairman Thomas Beagle about his concerns. Dunedin based innovator Ian Taylor has spoken out about what New Zealand places that are in his words 'overtourismed'. The entrepreneur travels the world often only to come back to his part ofthe woods to see the effects of too many tourist. Ian has singled out Queenstown - he believes that Queenstown needs to learn from other places when it comes to overtourism. Most of us have been lucky enough to try a bunk bed; sharing a room with a sibling, bunking with a cousin at Christmas, or squeezing everyone in at a bach. They're handy but hardly luxury...or at least that's how we used to view them. But apparently now they're the latest trend. The Guardian reports that chic hotels are now offering up private bunk bed rooms. Not dorms for cheap travellers but instead high-end suites to share with friends.
