From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 18 March 2019

The massace in Chch has put the spotlight on NZ gun laws - particularly around the availability of semi automatic weapons. Over $5m has been raised on a Givealittle page for the victims of the Christchurch mosque killings. All that money comes form nearly 70-thousand donors. So thank you New Zealand - and those of you from around the world who've contributed. It was set up by Victim Support and they say the money is being ring-fenced and is not for their regular operating costs. The Panelists talk about the things that really mean something after a tragedy. The Canterbury Crusaders rugby team is considering a name change. Apparently, they've thought about getting rid of "Crusaders" before because of the connotations. Religious studies expert Dr Peter Lineham explains what the crusades were and why they still affect Muslim people so deeply.
