Buddhist ritual threatens native flora and fauna
Some Buddhists are releasing animals into the wild as a way to get good karma. This has included releasing live fish, which are bought at fish markets, into Auckland's Waitemata Harbour and red-eared slider turtles into the lake at Western Springs. It's not good karma for our native wildlife though. Akasha Garvha of the Wellington Buddhist Centre explains what karma is.
