Far more crimes than officially reported

The Justice Ministry's first crime and victims survey that suggests one million, eight hundred thousand were committed in New Zealand last year. That's about seven times the number reported to police. The Ministry spoke to more than 8000 people for the survey, 29 percent were victims of crime but less than a quarter of them were willing to make a complaint.
