Kauri die-back disease is now within 60 metres of the renowned tree Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest. There's been basically no tampering with voting processes in New Zealand. So switching to an on-line system is a case of which would be best? Electoral law expert Andrew Geddis of the University of Otago says the thing to think about is who actually owns and runs the systems used to enable it to happen. The Tauranga Council has passed a bylaw banning beggars in retail. So who will enforce the ban? Police say they'll only intervene if there's a disturbance of the peace. Tauranga's mayor Greg Brownless describes who will do what under the new bylaw.
