From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 1 November 2018

Protestors target the representation of US weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin at Palmerston North's Defence, Industry and National Security Forum. But, NZ First MP Darroch Ball says many other business are taking part which supply "apples, toilet paper, spare parts, electronics, steel and clothing to the Defence Force" and which have a presence in the city. The Immigration Minister has more digging to do on a Czech criminal after it came to light that the Courts allowed him to return to his homeland twice on business. This appears to negate the argument that Karel Sroubek a.k.a Jan Antolik would be in mortal danger if he returned to his country of origin. Immigration lawyer Mark Williams explains how Imigration New Zealand can come to making decisions about who gets to stay and who's booted out of the country. An Indian overseas student Shyamal Patel completed a Masters in International Studies at IPU in Palmerston North, writing her dissertation on supermarkets and buyer behaviour. She then worked as an office manager at Alamir Bakery in Wellington - a food company that supplies over 300 supermarkets and restaurants nationwide. But Immigration New Zealand has refused to issue a post-study work visa. Ms Patel says she has to make plans to leave the country. A Kidscan survey of women and girls has found that more than half have either frequently or occasionally found it difficult to access sanitary items due to cost, nearly a quarter have missed school or work because of lack of access to them. KidsCan founder and chief executive Julie Chapman says condoms are handed out all over the place whereas there's no free sanitary products. Is is a good comparison though?
