Masters graduate denied post-study work visa

An Indian overseas student Shyamal Patel completed a Masters in International Studies at IPU in Palmerston North, writing her dissertation on supermarkets and buyer behaviour.She then worked as an office manager at Alamir Bakery in Wellington - a food company that supplies over 300 supermarkets and restaurants nationwide. But Immigration New Zealand has refused to issue a post-study work visa. Ms Patel says she has to make plans to leave the country.
