The ANZ bank has made a $2bn profit from its New Zealand operations in the past year. The Australian bank says this is due to favourable economic conditions. KiwiSaver provider Simplicity's managing director Sam Stubbs says banks are taking advantage and extracting unreasonable profits. The online magazine The Conversation has a feature on chairs on its site. The owners of the Black Rabbit Kitchen and Bar in Bannockburn near Cromwell are afraid they'll go out of business after the Central Otago District Council told them they were only allowed a fraction of the patrons they thought they were. Jimmy Fairweather says they've lost about $20k in trade in the past few weeks.
