The Panel with Ali Jones and Damian Chistie (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 6 September 2018

Mark D'Amico and Kate McClure raised more than $400,000 US dollars for homeless man Johnny Bobbitt, who gave his last $20 to the woman after her car ran out of petrol. Strangers sent in money for Mr Bobbitt but now the money is gone and he's suing the couple. The panelists discuss the risks of donating to online campaigns. What the Panelists Ali Jones and Damian Chistie want to talk about. The debate over whether bible lessons should be taught in state schools is going to the high court. Betsy Tipping took her son out of school because she was unhappy volunteers were teaching their view as if fact. There's concern promoting one religion discrimates against those who do not believe in it. We ask the panelists if they think there's valid values to learnt from bible studies. Political commentator Bryce Edwards has written an opinion piece today saying the campaign for free universal dental care must continue. Currently oral health is seperate form general health so doesn't come under the publci health system. Young people get free care until they're 18. Mr Edwards argues this affects the poor in our country as many forgo dental care as its too expensive. Bryce Edwards joins The Panle to tell us more about why now is the time for this discussion.
