The Panel with Stephen Franks and Nicky Pellegrino (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 3 September 2018

National leader Simon Bridges says he's arranged for kiwi woman Abby Hartley to be flown home once she's well enough to travel. Ms Hartley fell ill while in Bali on holiday but her insurance won't cover her. Generous donors have raised money for the medical and evacuation costs. The government refused to get involved in the case. We ask the panelists whether they think private intervention was needed. Continuing the discussion about insurance, we've had a number of responses from listeners since we raised the issue last week. Many are asking why insurers can't have access to our medical records when establishing cover, so there are no surprises. Chris White from Southern Cross joins The Panel again to tell us if this could work. Residents living near the wharf at Māngere Bridge are frustrated and fed up with the continual late-night antics in their neghbourhood. There are hundreds of reports of loud music, sex, drinking and fighting into the early hours of the weekend days, but police have been unable to bring an end to the problems, despite the fact the liqour bans are in place. We talk to resident Jeremy Fraser about waht he's seen and what he wants done about it.
