The Panel with Mai Chen and Allan Blackman (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 21 August 2018

The King of Pop has been superceded by a Greatest Hits album as the highest selling record in the US. The Eagles Greatest hits has surpassed Michael Jackson's 1982 album Thriller. What the Panelists Mai Chen and Allan Blackman want to talk about. Research in the New Zealand Medical Journal says a lot of music is played in operating theatres. How would you feel about Achy Breaky Heart or Bad Medicine being played while you're under? If you drive a truck for a living you're more likely to die on the job than in any other profession. Alex Collie of the Monash School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine says truck driving "has long working hours, lots of sitting, poor nutrition, social isolation, shift work, time pressure, low levels of job control, a risk of road crashes." We talk to truckie Terene Batten about her experience of being on the road. Tesla's boss Elon Musk apparently works 120 hours a week. Working on projects for the betterment of human beings. Meanwhile, a Guardian columnist reassuringly tells us not to worry about robots stealing our jobs. They're just freeing us for leisure activites and to make time to care for others.
