Curtains against the cold

From The Panel, 4:49 pm on 14 August 2018

Habitat for Humanity is flat out making curtains for low-income households to keep the cold out this winter. There are more than 100 families on the waiting list.

However the Housing the Urban Development Minister Phil Twyford says unless the curtains are installed precisely, they won't do much good.

We ask Dr Lucy Telfar-Barnard, from the Department of Public Health at the University of Otago, whether this is true and whether curtains can help keep in warmth in.
