Selenelion Saturday

From The Panel, 4:33 pm on 27 July 2018

This Saturday some Kiwis will be able to witness a rare celestial event, a selenelion.

A selenelion is when the sun and an eclipsed Moon are in the sky at the same time - what could be a once-in-a-lifetime event.

It's caused by the refraction of light caused by our atmosphere. We discuss why some people get excited at the possibilities events like this can have on our lives.
