From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 29 May 2018

Advertising is butchering the English language. The mangling of correct grammar in baffling slogans is known as 'language DJing' in the industry. The panelists debate why companies choose to market such confusing slogans for their products and brand. What the Panelists Heather Roy and Damian Christie want to talk about. The National party is looking at new possible alliances after ACT's latest low poll result. The 1 News Colmar Brunton Poll had ACT contributing just one seat to the coalition, making the combined number less than the Labour-Greens block. We ask why ACT is failing to get support. The Prime Minister will be hit with an e-mob campaign by those protesting the closure of the Stand Children's Sevices Rox burgh children's village. A petition has also been created to save the Roxburgh village and one in Otaki. Bronwyn Ngatai, director of ADHD Foundation for Aotearoa NZ, started the petition and tells us why the service is so important. A video game that allows people to play as a school shooter has caused outrage among parents of the Parkland shooting victims. Anti-gun violence groups say "Active shooter" crosses a line but the game does warn that it is a simulation only. The panelists discuss what can really be done about this game. A new study has found those who speed the most are middle-aged and the worst speeders are those who drive Audis. BMW drivers come in second. The slwoest drivers are those who drive Suzukis. This seems to go against the usual picture painted of boy racers. The panelists theorise why.
