A Professor at the London School of Economics has a new book called "Bullshit Jobs". In it, he details how whole industries are made up of jobs thta are a waste of time. He says that it would make no difference to the world if jobs in industries like telemarketing, corporate law, financial or management consultation, totally disappeared. We ask the panelists if the author is exaggerating, or if they agree. What the Panelists Guy Williams and Julia Hartley Moore want to talk about. A community group in Tokoroa is fighting against a new "mini casino", a 30-machine pokie venue. The group is raising money on givealittle to mount a legal challenge. Tokoroa currently has 74 per cent of all pokie machines in South Waikato. Colin Bridle, spokesperson for Feed Families Not Pokies Incorporated Society, tells us what there legal argument is against the casino. Four kiwi businessmen are tonight flying out to Kathmandu to compete in the Tenzing Everest Marathon. It's a rigorous and dangerous run but they're doing it to raise money Heart Kids. We talk to one of the men, Colin Thompson, who only started runnign a few years ago, about preparing for the event.
