The Panel with Cas Carter and Kerry Spackman (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 23 February 2018

After Dave Miller and his family were hit by a Japanese man who had fallen asleep at the wheel from 24 hours of travel, he's been highly critical of the ease foreigners have in being allowed to drive here. The Panel talks to Charlie Ives who is executive officer of Regional Tourism New Zealand about whether there is a solution to the repeating crashes involving tourists. The National Rifle Association is hitting back at pressure for more gun controls in the United States. But why do so many Americans equate the ability to buy a gun with freedom. The Panel is joined by Dr Jules Older, who is a former University of Otago psychologist. He now lives in San Francisco, but is currently on a visit to Auckland. An Iranian delegation signalled they didn't want to shake the hand of Labour MP Jo Luxton, who's male colleagues then refused to shake the hands of the Iranians. The Panel discusses what is more of an issue: gender or cultural rights? It looks like parts of the NZ Herald online will disapear behind a paywall. NZME plans to put up paywall around premium journalism on its website.
