The Panel with Cas Carter and Peter Fa'afiu (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 22 November 2017

How does you motivate yourself to achieve? Setting goals has always been touted as the key to getting ahead - but there's new discussions around whether goals actually become self-defeating, that goals can limit your journey. We ask the panellists to weigh in on the worthiness of goal setting. What the Panelists Cas Carter and Peter Fa'afiu want to talk about. Hamilton councillor Mark Bunting is in hot water after he sent pictures of a crude joke to journalists Angela Cuming. It involved an off-colour pun about her last name. She'd been in contact with Bunting over teh city's playgrounds. She published messages, which the councillor has defended as a "joke", saying the's never appropriate to send something of this nature to a woman, especially from someone in a position of power. The panellists discuss. Australian supermarket giant Coles has introduced a new "quiet hour" in 69 of its stores. The goal is to help people with Autism go about their shoppign without being overwhelmed. The bright lights and loud sounds can be too much for people on the autism spectrum. Melissa Webster, the National Manager of Aspect - Autism Spectrum Australia - explains how the "quiet hour" will work and whether it could be extended further. We continue our discussion this week about the efforts to reduce the country's road toll. We ask the panellists there views on some more suggestions from our listeners. Lotto tickets are flying out the door as the powerball prize jackpots to $38 million. Retailers are selling more than ever for this draw despite the chances not being any slimer. We ask the panellists why people find it so much more tempting to buy a ticket when the prize grows.
