Auckland council's CEO has rejected a debate on scrapping business-class and premium-class travel. Almost half of the council's expenditure on overseas travel has gone on business-class flights. Councillors Efeso Collins and John Watson had put forward a motion to exclude flights from the council's funding and require staff to report their international travel, but it's been rejected from the council's agenda. Manukau councillor Efeso Collins tells us why he believes staff shouldn't be travelling in luxury.
