Keeping a tiny school going

From The Panel, 4:21 pm on 6 November 2017

The principal and sole teacher of the 130 year-old Mangmuka School Yanje Klaricich discusses the balancing act of managing a school of just 11 pupils.

The roll is down from 17 last year and Ms Klaricich says although Mangamuka School has the capacity for 50 children families often end up leaving the area because there are no jobs. Despite this she says the school has come along in leaps and bounds since the last ERO (Educational Review Office) Report three years-ago.
