The Hong Kong pro-democracy protesters are defiant in the face of tear gas and batons. Hong Kong police cleared a crowd blocking a key road in the government district in defiance of official warnings against illegal demonstrations. Newly elected te Tai Tokerau Labour MP Kelvin Davis isn't happy that New Zealanders will have now to pay $15 to get into the Waitangi Treaty grounds. Those under 18 will still get in for no charge. The charge for overseas visitors will remain at $25.
