Fiji's Supervisor of Elections says international media have a difficult time digesting that Fiji elections are now run properly.

Fiji’s political history is complex but best known internationally for its coups. There have been four in the past thirty years. The most recent was in 2006 and led by Frank Bainimarama, Fiji’s current Prime Minister.

Since then the country has held two elections, in 2014 and 2018.

Fiji Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem told Daniela Maoate-Cox misconceptions about the election process are created by some media outlets which publish "half-baked" stories.

This interview is part of a series on the Speaker-led delegation to Tonga and Fiji. The full coverage can be found here.
