From the collecton The House On Demand

New Zealand should trust and support the work being done already in the Pacific says the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre.

The Centre supports victims of violence and provides services including 24-hour crisis counselling as well as legal, medical, and other support services. New Zealand supports the Centre with funding.

Its coordinator Shamima Ali told Daniela Maoate-Cox its important New Zealand Aid supports existing programmes in Fiji rather than bring in its own organisations.

This interview is part of a series on the Speaker-led delegation to Tonga and Fiji. The full coverage can be found here.
