Parliament considers non-government bills

From The House , 6:59 pm on 30 June 2020

After a long debating week last week this week is a bit easier, including a whole day of considering that are not from the Government, including one from the newly promoted deputy leader of the National Party, Nikki Kaye.

Other Member’s bills that might come up for consideration this week:

A bill from New Zealand First’s Darroch Ball which seeks to create a mandatory prison sentence for injuring a first responder with intent.

A bill from New Zealand First’s Mark Patterson that seeks to increase the residency requirement for New Zealanders to receive superannuation from 10 to 20 years after the age of 20.

And before any of that there’s a Local Bill from National MP Parmjeet Parmar that wants to change the rules for Auckland City Council accountancy.
