Turning ideas into law

A bill seemingly appears like magic in the House for its first reading but getting it to that stage can take months of work.

Those who do the work need to make sure they can give the best possible advice to Ministers when turning policy into legislation so the Office of the Clerk and the Parliamentary Counsel Office hold seminars on turning an idea into a law.
