Te Waonui for week ending 19 MARCH 2017

On Te Waonui the Whanganui river will be the first river in the world to have the same legal status as a person and a claim has been lodged with the Waitangi Tribunal calling for an independent inquiry into abuse in state welfare institutions that disproportionately affected Māori.
