The Horowhenua District Council will continue with plans to pump wastewater into land near a local marae, despite iwi opposition; The former Minister of Maori Affairs, Pita Sharples was awarded a knighthood today; Besides Sir Pita Sharples being acknowledged there were also a number of other significant Maori people who were honoured at today's investiture ceremony in Tamaki Makaurau; Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori is encouraging more applications from the Auckland region fund to boost language use and proficiency.
