Leading performing artists say tangata whenua in the industry are leaving Wellington because of dwindling funding from Creative New Zealand; The Atihau-Whanganui Incorporation is lending one-point-six million dollars of unclaimed dividends to its charitable arm which will go towards funding for education, sports and housing insulation grants; The Cancer Society says making health services more culturally welcoming would help make a big difference in addressing cancer rates amongst tangata whenua; Construction of a new meeting house at a Northland Marae, destroyed by fire, could start by August next year.
